PM Inaugurated the Lahore Technopolis

Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Lahore Technopolis Special Technology Zone (STZ), which synergizes an ecosystem of academia, government, and the tech industry. The STZ promises a boost in tech export and an acceleration in transitioning towards a knowledge-based economy.
Speaking at the event, PM Khan highlighted the importance of the technology industry from an economic perspective, employment generation, human capital development, women empowerment, and overall technology-focused growth of the national economy. He expressed his desire to transform Pakistan into a knowledge-based economy and enable the country’s youth to take lead in Pakistan’s strategic development.
The Lahore Technopolis STZ is one of the largest technology zones in Pakistan, spanning over a strategically located land parcel of 800 acres, where huge investment is being sought from all over the world to enhance the export potential in the technology sector.
At the event several Zone Enterprise and Zone Developer licenses were issued including Systems limited, State Life Insurance Corporation, Galaxy Racer, Shorooq Partners, Younus Brothers – Grupo Karim, i-Engineering, OneScreen, Co-labs, DigiKhata, and Adal Fintech.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has also been signed between the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) and a consortium comprising of Younus Brothers, Groupo Karim, and Eastern Group of Companies for an investment of $300 million in the STZs across Pakistan.
