The Delegation of The European Union to Pakistan led by Mr. Daniel Clauss met with a delegation of the Special Technology Zones Authority, led by the Director Planning and Strategic Communications Hamza Saeed Orakzai. The EU delegation was appraised about the Islamabad Technopolis, which is the flagship Special Technology Zone (STZ) currently under development in Islamabad. The STZA delegation highlighted various technology investment opportunities for potential EU investors in Pakistan’s STZs, especially in the areas of Research & Development, Technology Skills Arbitrage, Skills Development, and other areas of cooperation. The STZA renewed its commitment to developing linkages with and providing a robust red-carpet mechanism to the public and private sectors of the European Union for exploring future investment prospects in Pakistan’s emerging technology industry. The delegation of the EU trade and economic counselors to Pakistan greatly appreciated the STZA’s efforts to create knowledge ecosystems in Pakistan. The STZA and the Delegation of EU to Pakistan agreed to hold monthly meetings to boost cooperation and explore future possibilities.
